Waiving Rs 30 million loans to people of tribal districts proposed in Peshawar

Proposal has been given to write off 30 million agriculture loans in tribal districts for the period from 2009 to 2012.

PESHAWARD (Pakistan Point News / Online - 06th April, 2019) Proposal has been given to write off 30 million agriculture loans in tribal districts for the period from 2009 to 2012.Loans amounting to Rs 471 million were provided to citizens of all the seven tribal districts from 2009 to 2012 including Rs 30 million agriculture loan and Rs 440 million for other sectors.The proposal for waiving the agriculture loan has been made part of the recommendations made by Senate standing committee on SAFRON. Exemption in sales tax and income tax has also been granted to these tribal districts.The agriculture loans were provided to the people from districts including Khyber, Mohmand, Bajore, Karrum, Orakzai, North Waziristan, South Waziristan and FR areas.The loans will likely to be written of after approval from State Bank of Pakistan and Federal government.
