MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 03rd April, 2019) Angola is interested in creation of joint enterprises with Russia, including in agriculture, energy, tourism, geology and subsurface resources management, Angolan President Joao Lourenco, who is currently paying an official visit to Russia, said on Wednesday.
Lourenco said in his address for the lower house of the Russian parliament that only a few Russian companies were currently operating in the Angolan market, specifying that Russian-Angolan cooperation was limited to diamond exploration and extraction, finance and hydroelectric power plants construction.
"The Republic of Angola is very much interested in changing this situation by creating state and private partnerships or joint Angolan-Russian enterprises, with a focus on such spheres as manufacturing, agriculture, fishery, energy, tourism, geology and subsurface resources management, since we consider them as priority areas," Lourenco told the Russian State Duma.
Lorurenco is set to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday. The Angolan leader said that talks would focus on further expansion of economic relations between the two countries.
