Heroin smuggling case: Czech model challenges her sentence in LHC

Arrested foreign model Teresa was awarded 8 years and 8 months sentence in heroin smuggling case.

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 2nd April, 2019) Czech model Teresa, who was imprisoned in heroin smuggling case, has decided to challenge her sentence in Lahore High Court.

Media reports said that he Lahore High Court issued official number 2832 to the Czech model on her appeal.

In her petition, the model adopted that she is innocent while the decision announced by trial court is contrary to facts.

The petition stated that the heroin smuggling allegation by customs officials is baseless.

Teresa requested the court to reject the trial court’s decision and release him. She said that she had come to Pakistan to learn Islamic Studies.

Additional session judge Shehzad Raza gave the judgment against foreign model in heroin smuggling case.

Court while awarding accused sentence of 8 years and 8 months in jail also imposed fine of Rs 1, 13,000.

The court had remarked that prosecution has proved the attempt of Teresa to smuggle heroin while model could not prove herself innocent. Court acquitted suspect Shoaib upon inadequate evidences.

Foreign model was arrested on Jan 10, 2018 in an attempt to smuggle 8.5kg heroin.
