Sharjah Chamber boosting economic cooperation with South Africa, Belarus

The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, SCCI, represented by Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the chamber, held discussions with Mogobo David Magabe, South Africa’s Consul-General, and Igor Bondarev, Consul-General of Belarus in the UAE, on enhancing joint cooperation,

SHARJAH, (Pakistan Point News - 01st Apr, 2019) The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, SCCI, represented by Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the chamber, held discussions with Mogobo David Magabe, South Africa’s Consul-General, and Igor Bondarev, Consul-General of Belarus in the UAE, on enhancing joint cooperation, as well as prospects of trade and investment partnerships with both countries.

In the first meeting, Al Owais met with Magabe and his accompanying delegation, and discussed cooperation and investment opportunities in various sectors, particularly, South Africa’s tourism sector.

Magabe called for making use of the Emirate of Sharjah’s expertise in family tourism field, pointing out that the cooperation in this sector helps serve the joint objectives and contributes to the development of ties to high standards.

In turn, Al Owais shed light on the importance of communication between business communities in Sharjah and South Africa, noting that the participation in Sharjah’s global exhibitions represents a fundamental factor in this regard.

Al Owais invited South Africa’s private sector to take advantage of the specialised economic exhibitions organised by Sharjah throughout the year and to take part in those exhibitions to learn more about Sharjah business community’s needs, in addition to closely discovering the opportunities of the diverse economic sectors.

Al Owais also met with Bondarev and explored prospects of coordination in various domains and means of promoting relationship between both countries to keep pace with the potentials and capabilities of the two sides.

Bondarev conveyed the invitation of Vladimir Ulakhovich, Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, to Sharjah Chamber to visit Belarus and to learn closely about the available investment opportunities, as well as ways of strengthening joint trade cooperation.

Bondarev called on Sharjah Chamber to lead a commercial delegation representing Sharjah’s private sector with a view to participating in the economic events organised by his country, stressing Belarus’s great attention in terms of developing the economic relationships with the UAE’ business community.

During the meeting, Al Owais examined with the Belarusian Consul-General possibilities of organising a trade and economic exhibition in Sharjah and inviting a wide range of Belarusian companies to take part in this exhibition.

"The aim of this step is to introduce the Belarusian distinguished products and services to the working companies in Sharjah. These events are playing a key factor in boosting and developing the economic relationships between the two sides," he added.

Al Owais underlined that the success of Sharjah’ business environment in reaching a global position forms a driving factor of the global attention to consolidating economic ties with the Emirate of Sharjah.
