Two Indian soldiers commit suicide in Occupied Kashmir

Ramphul Meena associated with Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) shot himself with his official rifle inside his camp

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 1st April, 2019) At least two Indian soldiers committed suicide in Occupied Kashmir in the past 24 hours, taking the number of these suicides to 423.

An Indian soldier identified as Ramphul Meena associated with Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) shot himself with his official rifle inside his camp at Sericulture Office in Solina area of Srinagar while he was on duty.

Earlier, in occupied Kashmir, an officer of ITBP committed suicide in Baramulla district on Saturday.

A sub-Inspector of ITBP, Chandar Mani, ended his life by shooting himself with his service rifle at a camp in Kunzar area of the district.

This incident raised the number of such deaths amongst the Indian troops and police personnel to 423 in occupied Kashmir since January 2007 till date.

The unpreparedness and low morale of Indian Army was revealed with the recent escalations with Pakistan.

The Indian army is divided among castes and religions. The discrimination on the ethnic lines is one of the major reasons for the low morale of Indian Army.

Other than that, substandard food, lack of facilities and poor behaviour of higher officials towards low-grade soldiers are among other reasons for the lack of morale in Indian Army.

All of these reasons were revealed in a letter of Indian military intelligence.
