MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 01st April, 2019) The Russian side of the Russian-Turkish commission monitoring the implementation of the Syrian ceasefire has registered five ceasefire violations in the country over the past 24 hours, while the Turkish side has recorded eight truce breaches, the Russian Defense Ministry's Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in Syria said on Monday.
"Over the last 24 hours, the Russian party of the Russia-Turkey Commission on violations of the Joint Agreement has registered five cases of firing in the provinces of Aleppo (2), Idlib (2) and Latakia (1). The Turkish side has registered eight cases of ceasefire violations in the provinces of Latakia (5), Aleppo (2) and Hama (1)," the center said in its daily bulletin.
Over the given period, the Russian military held one humanitarian action in the southern Daraa province, handing out 500 food sets to local residents, the center added.
Apart from being one of the guarantors of the ceasefire in Syria, Russia also assists Damascus in the postwar reconstruction of the country and the repatriation of refugees. The Russian military carries out regular humanitarian actions across Syria, delivering tonnes of food and supplies to local residents.
