Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has announced a package of Rs 162 billion for development projects in Karachi
KARACHI (Pakistan Point News / Online - 30th March, 2019) Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has announced a package of Rs 162 billion for development projects in Karachi.Addressing a ceremony after the meeting of Karachi Transformation Committee in governor house Sindh PM said he is giving package of Rs 162 billion for Karachi.This package includes 18 projects including 10 of public transport and 7 of water sewerage.While announcing a university for Hyderabad, he said a university will be set up in Hyderabad and RO plants valuing Rs 1 billion will be implemented in Tharparkar.
Federal government will see university in Hyderabad .He underlined that development of Karachi is must for the development of Pakistan. Improving the situation in Karachi is job of provincial government. Responsibility of Karachi lies with Sindh government. But Sindh government has won the election from interior Sindh. What treatment they have meted out to Karachi is before all of us.He went on to say " we know all what are problems there in drinking water project K-4.
No campaign has ever been launched for conservation of water in Pakistan.Later addressing the inauguration ceremony of Bagh-e-Qasim there should be play grounds for youths in Karachi. The grounds wherein Javed Miandad had played have been occupied illegally.Imran Khan said the deterioration in Karachi's infrastructure during the last ten years has caused damage to the whole country.The Prime Minister assured that the projects of RO plants in District Tharparkar will be implemented at a cost of Rs one billion.
He said we have to decide Karachi will not expand beyond a specific area. Karachi master plan is very important in this respect. Interim decisions have to be taken unless master plan is formed. It is must that master plan of the city should be evolved as soon as possible.There are several kachchi abadis in the city, he said adding we have to restrict the city and develop Kachchi abadis.
