BERLIN (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 29th March, 2019) German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas warned London on Friday that time was running out to avert a chaotic Brexit but stressed the European Union was prepared for any outcome."We are running out of time to avert a disorderly Brexit. The Britons must decide the next steps before April 12. Otherwise it's a no-deal, however hard it is. The absence of unity on an orderly Brexit two years after the Brexit decision is inexplicable. I can only say this: Germany and the EU are well-prepared for any scenario. We have agreed laws and taken measures to protect citizens both sides of the English Channel from numerous unpleasant consequences of a no-deal. That remains our main concern," he said in a statement.
The UK House of Commons voted 344-286 on Friday to reject Prime Minister Theresa May's revamped proposal for the terms of the United Kingdom's looming exit from the European Union.
The country is poised to crash out of the bloc on April 12, a scenario that has already been rejected by the Commons. The UK government is expected to seek a longer extension to the Brexit process, but Brussels said it would only consider a delay if a credible alternative plan was outlined.
