PESHAWAR (Pakistan Point News / NNI - 29th March, 2019) Governor Khyber Pakhtonkhwa Shah Farman on Friday chaired the meeting of Apex Committee and reviewed issues related to merger of Federally Administered Tribal Area (FATA) into KP.The meeting reviewed the overall security situation of the province. The key meeting also discussed in detail about police deployment in the tribal districts after FATA merger.The apex committee lauded services of the Levies and Khasadar forces and vowed to resolve problems faced by them.

The meeting decided to form a committee for resolution of problems.The committee will be headed by spokesperson of the Khyber Pakhtonkhwa government, Ajmal Wazir.According to the handout issued after the meeting, the members decided to take steps for bringing improvement in education and health sectors.It was also proposed to elevate arms manufacturing in Dara Adam Khel a status of s small industry.On March 25, the Peshawar High Court (PHC) had suspended a notification issued by Governor Khyber Pakhtonkhwa Shah Farman regarding formation of a four-member advisory committee aimed at protecting tribal traditional, culture and control post-merger in K-P and ex-Fata.

Governor KP Shah Farman on Feb 7 had constituted a three-member advisory board.A notification released by the governor revealed that former Ambassadors to Afghanistan Rustam Shah Mohmand, Mir Laiq Shah and Sangi Marjan are members of the board.The notification further read that the board will propose a comprehensive dispute resolution mechanism to resolve civil and criminal disputes in accordance with local customs and tradition.
