FUJAIRAH, (Pakistan Point News - 29th Mar, 2019) A total of 221 Emirati women have been trained and are ready to join the job market following completion of a job rehabilitation programme.

The two-year Work Readiness Programme, WRP, was developed in partnership with the College of Islamic and Arabic Studies, CIAS. Since 2013, the Higher Colleges of Technology, HCT, and the CIAS have been conducting the Injaz WRP in Dubai and Fujairah.

Nasser bin Thani Al Hamli, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, and Chairman of the board of the HCT, attended the graduation ceremony of the fourth batch of the programme at the Fujairah Women’s Campus.

Addressing the event, Al Hamli said that the programme is part of the UAE leadership's vision to provide education and training to empower Emirati citizens and invest in them to advance national development and increase their participation in making a promising future.

He called on the female graduates to continue developing their skills amidst rapid changes in the job market.

He thanked Juma Al Majid, Chairman and Founder of the Islamic and Arabic Studies, for supporting the programme.

''The HCT will continue to support all national initiatives for the development and rehabilitation of Emirati human resources as part of its ''Education for All'' strategy,'' he emphasised.

The WRP had so far graduated 1,088 students and partnered with 26 public and private employers, Al Majid said.

The ceremony was attended by Saeed Mohammed Al Raqbani, Personal Advisor to His Highness the Ruler of Fujairah, Dr Abdullatif Al Shamsi, HCT Vice Chancellor, and Dr Mohammed Abdul Rahman, CIAS Dubai Director.

The WRP is implemented under the HCT’s supervision in order to ensure national manpower development and equip young Emiratis with the labour market skills in order to contribute to the UAE economy. The programme, designed by the HCT, will provide UAE nationals with labour market-relevant skills, such as Arabic, English, computer skills, Mathematics and Accounting, as well as a practical training course that meets the requirements of both, the public and private sectors.
