Shireen Mazari declares US Ambassador to Afghanistan little pygmy

Pak-Afghan diplomatic row over remarks of Prime Minister Imran Khan took a new turn on Thursday following US ambassador to Kabul and Human Rights Minister Shireen Mazari tweets exchange.

LAHORE- The diplomatic row between Pakistan and Afghanistan over remarks of Prime Minister Imran Khan took a new turn on Thursday following jumping into in the US ambassador to Kabul and Human Rights Minister Shireen Mazari.

The problem started over PM Khan’s remark during his talk with journalists that Kabul needed an interim setup to make successful the ongoing US-Taliban peace talks.

Afghan government reacted angry over Khan’s comments and recalled its ambassador to Pakistan.

The foreign office, however, later in a statement said that Khan was misquoted in the media regarding his remarks over the Afghan peace process.

But, things turned into worst when US Ambassador to Afghanistan John Bass in a tweet made strict criticism over Khan’s remarks. He quoted cricket events and compared Khan’s sports history with that of world diplomacy.

"Some aspects of #cricket apply well in diplomacy, some do not. @ImranKhanPTI, important to resist the temptation to ball-tamper with the #Afghanistan peace process and its internal affairs. #AfgPeace," said John Bass in a tweet.

This created outrage over social media and strict criticism by Pakistani ministers.

Human Rights Minister Shireen’s response to US ambassador was most furious among all who called the American diplomat a little pygmy.

"Clearly you little pygmy your knowledge of ball tampering is as void as your understanding of Afghanistan and the region! Clearly in your case ignorance is certainly not bliss! Another sign of Trumpian mischief a la Khalilzad style!" she tweet while responding to Bass.
