Kyrgyzstan, Russia Sign 16 Intergovernmental, Investment Agreements - Economy Ministry

Kyrgyzstan and Russia signed 16 intergovernmental and investment agreements during their ongoing bilateral interregional conference, the press office of the Kyrgyz Ministry of Economy told Sputnik on Thursday

BISHKEK (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 28th March, 2019) Kyrgyzstan and Russia signed 16 intergovernmental and investment agreements during their ongoing bilateral interregional conference, the press office of the Kyrgyz Ministry of Economy told Sputnik on Thursday.

Earlier on Thursday, Russian Minister of Economic Development Maxim Oreshkin and his Kyrgyz counterpart, Oleg Pankratov, co-chaired a breakfast meeting with the heads of regions and companies of the two countries as part of the eighth Russian-Kyrgyz interregional "Toward New Horizons of Strategic Partnership and Integration" conference.

"After the meeting, there was a signing ceremony, during which 16 bilateral intergovernmental and investment agreements and memorandums were signed," the press office said, specifying that these documents included several cooperation agreements between the Kyrgyz cabinet, and Russia's Republic of Bashkortostan, Komi Republic, Sverdlovsk Region and Tyumen Region.

According to Pankratov, the participants of the talks discussed various issues, including the implementation of the integration potential within the EAEU, cooperation on the EAEU's digital agenda, and the development of the agro-industrial complex, and mechanisms for investment and financial cooperation between the two countries.

The conference, organized by the Russian Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic with the support of the Roscongress Foundation, is being held in Bishkek on March 27-28. It is attended by more than 800 delegates, including high-ranking officials from Russia and Kyrgyzstan. The conference's dates coincide with Russian President Vladimir Putin's state visit to Kyrgyzstan.
