Sirajul Haq re-elected Jamaat-e-Islami chief for next five years

JI election commissioner Asadullah Bhutto announced the results during a press conference at Mansora.

LAHORE- (Pakistan Point News- 21st March, 2019) Sirajul Haq has been re-elected Jamaat-e-Islami chief for the next five years (2019-2024).

JI election commissioner Asadullah Bhutto announced this during a press conference at Mansora.

The five-year tenure of Sirajul Haq will end in April and he will take fresh oath as JI amir in the first week of the next month.

Around 40,000 members of JI have cost their votes to choose the next chief of Jamaat in a month-long secret balloting process. The JI central executive council (Majlis-e-Shoora) has suggested the Names of Liaqat Baloch and Professor Ibrahim along with Sirajul Haq for the members. The JI election commission sent the ballot papers printed with three names to party members However, voters have the right to mention any other name except the given on ballot papers.

Asadullah Bhutto said the members with majority votes had chosen Sirajul Haq to retain his office for the next five years.
