ISLAMABAD (Pakistan Point News / NNI - 19th March, 2019) Chaudhry Fawad Hussain, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting while chairing a meeting regarding the establishment of Media University said that Government aims to build up the first truly Media University which would include dedicated technological hub for the future generations of Pakistan.He said that internet age has changed the paradigm and the importance of ubiquitous social media has increased manifold.
"It is imperative to learn the innovative skills needed to practice and participate in the media industry", he said.Information Minister said that Media University is being established by merging ptv, PBC and Information Service academies into one state of the art landmark University. He added that curriculum would be devised in consultation with all stakeholders covering wide range of subjects including the courses on drama production, film and cinema studies.
"The students will not only be imparted education about news media and other journalistic disciplines but would also be trained in the best digital technological practices prevalent in the media sector". The Minister said.Chaudhry Fawad Hussain sought Chinese renowned telecom company Huawei's assistance and partnership in the venture of establishing technical school as part of the Media University. Mr. Saif Chi, the country head Huawei showed his keen interest to make contribution to the project and briefed the meeting in detail regarding company's ongoing collaboration with different educational institutes in Pakistan.The meeting was attended by Mr. Saif Chi, the country head Huawei, Secretary I&B , Chairman HEC and other senior officials.
