Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov and US Special Representative for Venezuela Elliott Abrams have finished their consultations on the situation in crisis-hit Venezuela in the Italian capital, with the talks having lasted for slightly over two hours, a Sputnik correspondent reported on Tuesday
ROME (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 19th March, 2019) Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov and US Special Representative for Venezuela Elliott Abrams have finished their consultations on the situation in crisis-hit Venezuela in the Italian capital, with the talks having lasted for slightly over two hours, a Sputnik correspondent reported on Tuesday."The negotiations started at 9:00 a.m. [8:00 GMT]," a source in the Russian delegation told Sputnik.
The talks took place at the Westin Excelsior hotel in the Italian capital. Following the consultations, the sides are expected to give separate press conferences in the countries' diplomatic missions in Rome.
Earlier, Ryabkov said that he intended to communicate to the US side a number of stances during the talks, including the inadmissibility of any interference in Venezuelan internal affairs. The delegation also planned to raise the issue of pressure put on Russian companies over their business with firms in Venezuela.
