MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 18th March, 2019) Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro is set to start his first official visit to the United States on Monday, during which he will meet with US private sector representatives and hold talks with his counterpart, Donald Trump.
The visit is expected to start with a meeting with US top businesspeople and investors, slated for Monday.
The next day, Bolsonaro who is often portrayed in media as "Trump of the Tropics" for his public support of the US administration's stances on many issues, including migration, economy, environmental protection will be received by the US president.
During the talks, the two leaders will discuss a wide range of security concerns in the region, including the situation in Venezuela and "the major role that the United States and Brazil are playing in the effort to provide humanitarian assistance" to the crisis-hit country, according to the White House.
Bolsonaro and Trump also plan to look into opportunities for defense cooperation, pro-growth trade policies and fight against transnational crime.
