FNC, Bahraini Council of Representatives sign MoU

ABU DHABI, (Pakistan Point News - 17th Mar, 2019) Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Speaker of the Federal National Council, FNC, and Fawzia Abdullah Zainal, Speaker of the Council of Representatives of Bahrain, signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU.

The MoU will enable both parliamentary institutions to keep pace with the growing partnership between the UAE and Bahrain, to achieve their common interests and enhance their bilateral relations based on foresight in terms of government and parliamentary work. It will also enable both sides to launch joint initiatives related to innovation and support and empower the youth and women, in line with their visions regarding various Arab, Islamic, regional and international causes.

Dr. Al Qubaisi and Zainal signed the MoU in the FNC’s headquarters while discussing the means of strengthening the current relations between the two countries, which are witnessing overall growth and affirming the importance that their parliamentary relations to the aspirations of their leadership and peoples.

At the start of the meeting, Dr. Al Qubaisi welcomed Zainal and stressed the importance of her visit, which is her first to the UAE after becoming Speaker of the Council of Representatives of Bahrain while praising the development and advancement of women in Bahrain.

Both sides discussed the parliamentary cooperation between both sides, as well as the latest relevant developments witnessed in Arab, Islamic and international parliamentary events.

Zainal praised the role of Emirati parliamentary diplomacy in presenting and adopting causes related to enhancing global security while affirming that the coming stage will witness greater coordination and cooperation, which will benefit their countries and peoples.

She also praised the UAE’s overall advancement and development, which has made it a regional model and enabled it to lead international indexes related to empowering women and youth and adopting the values of tolerance and coexistence.

She added that she was looking forward to participating in the "Role of the Family in Strengthening the Tolerance Values Conference," which will be held tomorrow in Abu Dhabi.
