MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 16th March, 2019) Slovakia will hold a presidential election on Saturday with the second round planned for March 30, if needed.
According to the country's election procedures, a candidate must receive over 50 percent of the vote in order to be elected in the first round. If no candidate gets a majority, the two who polled the highest will compete in a runoff.
Slovakia's incumbent president, Andrej Kiska, has said he would not seek re-election.
There are five main rivals in the upcoming elections liberal lawyer and community activist Zuzana Caputova, European Commission Vice-President Maros Sefcovic, Supreme Court judge Stefan Harabin, far-right lawmaker Marian Kotleba and ethnic Hungarian lawmaker Bela Bugar.
