With a view to affording an opportunity to employers from Lahore and adjacent cities to hire graduates from the country’s premier science & technology university, National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST) organised its first-ever Job Fair at Lahore here on Thursday
Lahore (Pakistan Point News - 14th March, 2019) With a view to affording an opportunity to employers from Lahore and adjacent cities to hire graduates from the country’s premier science & technology university, National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST) organised its first-ever Job Fair at Lahore here on Thursday. Held at PCSIR Laboratories Complex, the event hosted representatives from over 125 multi-sectoral industries and various thematic associations – surgical, chemical, pharmaceutical, electronics, information technology, financial institutions, light engineering, manufacturing, plastics, automobile, textile, construction, bio-technology and agriculture.
Apart from Lahore, industries from Sialkot, Gujranwala and Sheikhupura also availed the opportunity to hire from amongst the best pool of versatile graduates. Having 94% employment rate within one year of their graduation, as per the QS World Rankings, NUST graduates tend to be the preferred choice of employers owing to the value they bring in terms of professional competence and soft skills. Contrary to producing run-of-the-mill graduates, NUST invests in all-round grooming of students during the course of their studies, which equips them with all prerequisites in line with the needs of industry as well as prospective employers.
It merits mention that NUST has made it mandatory for its students to have yearly internships to gain hands-on industrial experience. In addition, there also are other different modules aimed at enhancing their market-readiness. NUST also plans to hold job fairs on April 4 and 11, 2019, in Islamabad and Karachi, respectively.
