UAE prioritises children: Amal Al Qubaisi

ABU DHABI, (Pakistan Point News - 14th Mar, 2019) Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Speaker of the Federal National Council, FNC, said that the UAE is keen to prioritise children as a national wealth, as they are the cornerstone of its development and future while noting that the country has overcome the difficulties to raising children in the correct way, through a range of legislation, policies and strategies.

In a speech marking the annual Emirati Children’s Day on 15th March, Dr. Al Qubaisi said that the UAE is protecting children’s rights, through relevant legal, legislative and organisational frameworks, reflecting the directives of the wise leadership to support future generations.

She also praised the directives of the wise leadership, led by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, to support children and the entire community.

She added that the allocating 15th March as Emirati Children’s Day, upon an initiative from H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, reflects the country’s keenness to support and protect children’s rights.

Dr. Al Qubaisi highlighted Sheikha Fatima’s local and regional role in supporting motherhood and childhood.

She also expressed her pride for the FNC’s legislative role in issuing the necessary laws to protect children and the youth, especially Federal Law No. 03 of 2016 concerning the rights of children, Wadeema's Law, which was issued by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa.
