ISLAMABAD (Pakistan Point News / NNI - 13th March, 2019) President Arif Alvi has urged the public and private sectors to project positive aspects of Pakistani society through literature and fine arts.He was talking to a delegation of Parveen Shakir Trust which called on him here on Wednesday.The President said that poets and writers are our asset. He noted that literature is an important source of promoting peace and harmony in the society.Arif Alvi said promotion of literature and fine arts are amongst the priorities of the present goverment.
On the occasion, the president also paid tributes to the services of Parveen Shakir for promotion of urdu literature. He said Parveen Shakir through his poetry highlighted the problems faced by women and gave a new voice to them.Arif Alvi said the Parveen Shakir trust is also playing a commendable role in the promotion of Urdu literature amongst our youth.
