The former government completely followed procurement rules to purchase of laptops
LAHORE- (Pakistan Point News- 12th March 2019) PML-N President and Punjab former chief minister Shehbaz Sharif has been given clean chit in much controversial Laptop Scheme.
Different tv channels quoted a report submitted in Punjab Assembly on Tuesday and stated the PML-N government had committed no wrong in purchasing and distribution of laptops to thousands of students across Punjab.
Laptops were purchased from the lowest bidder and procurement rules 2014 were followed completely in entire process, the report said. Also, the government had fined no truth in allegations about missing of laptops.
National Accountability Bureau had started an inquiry into the allegations in 2018 but still could not find any irregularity in the scheme, reports said.
The former government had started the scheme in 2012 and spent billions of rupees on it. The NAB has so far issued no comment on the report.
