ZHO, EDSA sign Memorandum of Understanding

The Zayed Higher Organisation for Humanitarian Care and Special Needs, ZHO, yesterday signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, with the Emirates Down Syndrome Association

ABU DHABI, (Pakistan Point News - 12th Mar, 2019) The Zayed Higher Organisation for Humanitarian Care and Special Needs, ZHO, yesterday signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, with the Emirates Down Syndrome Association, EDSA, to promote joint cooperation, unify and coordinate their efforts, exchange expertise, and build an integrated organisational framework, which will positively affect People of Determination, integrate them into the community, and make them active and influential people.

The MoU aims to empower people with down syndrome and their families to benefit from the ZHO’s facilities and services, as well as to encourage them to register in the ZHO’s sports clubs, enable parents and families who are members of the association to use electronic services, and launch programmes and activities that target those with down syndrome, with the aim of integrating them into the community.

The agreement was signed by Abdullah Abdul Ali Al Humaidan, Secretary-General of ZHO, and Dr. Manal Rafiq Jaarour, Chairwoman of the board of Directors of EDSA, in the presence of several officials from both sides.

According to the MoU, the ZHO will coordinate and cooperate with its partners to provide available statistics and create a database of people of determination in the emirate, which will include new-born babies with down syndrome, so that they can receive services and information on relevant programmes.

Both sides will also exchange expertise, transfer knowledge and organise training sessions, to help rehabilitate and support People of Determination and enable them to benefit from available expertise, research and knowledge, as well as to create future generations who are capable of innovation and excellence.
