Shahid Afridi denies reports about his retirements from T-20 cricket

Legendary all-rounder praises the enthusiasm of cricket lovers at Karachi National Stadium

Karachi- (Pakistan Point News- 11th March 2019) Legendary all-rounder Shahid Khan Afridi has denied rumors about his retirement from club and T-20 cricket.

Talking to local tv, he said he was not leaving cricket, and focused on his fitness during the next two to three months.

“I’m free for next three months and will focus on fitness,” he replied to a reporter who asked him about his next engagement.

Afridi earlier made a round of the ground of Karachi’s National Stadium and waved to his fans who were shouting “Boom-Boom Afridi” to watch the all-rounder. He praised the enthusiasm of the cricket lovers who were coming in great number to watch the Pakistan Super League matches.

Afridi had announced the retirement from international cricket in 2017, ending an illustrious and sometimes controversial 21-year career. The 38-year-old star had already quit Tests in 2010 and ODI cricket after the 2015 World Cup but still skippered the Pakistan T20I team at the 2016 world championships in India. Later he resigned as captain of Pakistan team and started playing different league matches.
