Pakistan returns Indian prisoner arrested for crossing border illegally

Ghulam Qadir was arrested in 2012 for illegally crossing the Kashmir border.

Lahore (Pakistan Point News – 11th March, 2019) The Pakistani authorities have returned an Indian prisoner as a peace gesture.

According to details, the Indian prisoner, named Ghulam Qadir, was handed over to Border Security Force (BSF) via Wagah border on Monday.

Ghulam Qadir was arrested in 2012 for illegally crossing the Kashmir border.

Pakistan returned the Indian prisoner as a peace gesture.

On Sunday, the Indian authorities handed over to Rangers a Pakistani citizen, who had mistakenly crossed Working Boundary on Saturday.

The Indian forces had taken a 70-year-old man farmer in custody for crossing the border by mistake.

According to details, an elderly man, identified as Muhammad Ashraf, was busy in farming at working boundary in a bordering village in Zafarwal sector when he mistakenly crossed the border.

The Indian forces returned the elderly man to Pakistan Rangers at Shakar Garh Border.

Earlier, Pakistan released Indian fighter pilot Wing Commander Abhinandan who was arrested after Pakistan Air Force (PAF) had shot down two Indian aircrafts on February 27.

His release was announced by Prime Minister Imran Khan as a peace gesture. Pakistan had handed him over to Indian authorities at Wagah Border on March 1.
