DAMASCUS (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 07th March, 2019) A convoy of 37 trucks, organized by the United Nations and the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC), has delivered humanitarian aid to 50,000 people in Syria's Manbij, the SARC said in a Thursday statement.

"A joint @SYRedCrescent/@UNinSyria humanitarian convoy (37 trucks) loaded with food & nonfood items, to meet the needs of 50.000 people in Manbej, Aleppo, Syria," the SARC wrote on Twitter.

The organization added that the convoy had reached its destination on Wednesday.

There were 10,000 food sets as well as mattresses and other items.

Syria has been torn by civil war since 2011, with the government fighting numerous opposition groups and terrorist organizations. The country's citizens are in dire need of humanitarian aid from the world community.
