Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 7th March, 2019) According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, an overwhelming 65% of Pakistanis are in favour of lashing as a punishment prescribed for criminals by the state. A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked, “Do you think that lashing should be used as a punishment for criminals?” In response to this question, 65% said yes, 18% said no, while 17% did not know or did not wish to respond.
