Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 7th March, 2019) Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry has provided a way out to former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
The information minister said that Nawaz Sharif can get his freedom through plea bargain, a law present in National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
He said that Nawaz Sharif’s case makes a plea bargain of Rs 300 billion. The court can release him if he pays the amount.
Earlier, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Faisal Vawda said that Nawaz Sharif has made an offer of $2 billion plea bargain.
The former premier is currently incarcerated at the Kot Lakhpat Jail in Lahore where he is serving the seven-year sentence he was awarded by an accountability court in the case.
The Supreme Court had also rejected former premier Nawaz Sharif's appeal for a quick hearing of his petition to have his sentence in the Al-Azizia case suspended.
He had requested bail on the grounds that his health was deteriorating at the jail.
