PRAGUE (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 06th March, 2019) The Russian-Czech trade grew by 17.5 percent in 2018, amounting to $8.7 billion, Russian Minister of Trade and Industry Denis Manturov said on Wednesday at a plenary session of the Russian-Czech Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation.
"I would like to emphasize the great positive dynamics of our trade and economic relations. Over the last year, our trade grew by 17.5 percent and made $8.7 billion," Manturov, who co-chaired the meeting, said.
The minister specified that Russia's accumulated investment in the Czech economy amounted to around $1.8 billion in 2018, while Czech companies invested around $460 million in Russia's high-tech spheres, such as automobile production, machine tool design and power engineering.
Manturov added that the Russian-Czech services turnover grew by over 6 percent in 2018, exceeding $1 billion.
