Indian-Pakistani couple forced to postpone marriage amid tensions

Indian man from Rajasthan Mahendra Singh was coming to Pakistan to marry Chaggan Kunwar of Sindh’s Umerkot district.

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 6th March, 2019) An Indian-Pakistani couple had to postpone their wedding amid tensions between the two neighbours.

According to details, 23-year-old Indian man from Rajasthan Mahendra Singh was coming to Pakistan to marry Chaggan Kunwar of Sindh’s Umerkot district.

Their wedding was fixed for March 8 but the Pak-India escalations became a hurdle as all of the train tickets to Pakistan were suspended following tensions.

The groom and groom’s family were to come to Pakistan on March 2 via train but they had to postpone the wedding in view of the travel restrictions.

Mahendra said that his in-laws also supported his decision.

The bride and groom are now waiting for the situation to get normal to get married.

The groom further said that his family had got a three-month visa to Pakistan in January after much difficulty.

The wedding preparations were begun only after the visas were issued. The family had distributed invitation cards as well.
