The Russian Foreign Ministry said Wednesday that it has no information on the activities of any Russian security structures in Libya following reports on Russia's state-backed mercenaries in the North African country

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 06th March, 2019) The Russian Foreign Ministry said Wednesday that it has no information on the activities of any Russian security structures in Libya following reports on Russia's state-backed mercenaries in the North African country.

On Sunday, The Telegraph reported that "hundreds" of intelligence-linked Russian mercenaries operate in Libya via the Wagner Group private military company to support Khalifa Haftar, the head of the Libya's Government of National Accord (GNA). According to the media's sources, Wagner also supplies weapons and ammunition to the Benghazi-based GNA.

"The Russian Foreign Ministry does not have information on the activities of Russian security structures in Libya," the ministry said.
