The duration for US visa has been changed according to Pakistan's visa policy in only a few of the categories
Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 6th March, 2019) The United States has clarified its statement about the new visa policy for Pakistan.
Refuting the reports about US changing visa policy for Pakistan, the spokesperson for American embassy said that the visa policy for Pakistan has not been changed.
The duration has been changed according to Pakistan's visa policy in only a few of the categories, he said.
The change in duration was done in January this year.
According to the new policy, both the countries now issue visas to journalists for three months.
The spokesperson further said that the visa policy has been changed only for journalists and temporary workers.
Pakistan also issues the same duration visa for these categories, he added.
According to the new visa policy, US has decreased the validity periods of the visas for Pakistan. The new validity periods will be 3 months for Journalist and Media Visa and 12 months each for Temporary Work Visa, Intercompany Transfer Visa and Religious Worker Visa.
Moreove, US will charge an additional fee for visas in these categories.
The new visa policy became effective on January 21, 2019.
