MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 06th March, 2019) RIA Novosti Ukraine portal head Kirill Vyshinsky was indicted in Ukraine on Tuesday, meaning the probe is over, his lawyer told Sputnik.
"He has studied the case and was presented with the indictment. This means the end of the investigation as the materials go to court," Andriy Domansky said.
He added the journalist, who has been detained in Ukraine since last May on charges of high treason and supporting the bid for independence by two breakaway regions, could not study electronic files due to the sheer volume.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has described Vyshinsky's arrest as a politically motivated attack on a journalist doing his job.
Harlem Desir, the representative on freedom of the media at the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, has called for the journalist's release.
