Venezuelan Oil Minister May Visit Russia On April 4-5 - Ambassador To Moscow

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 06th March, 2019) Venezuelan Oil Minister Manuel Quevedo may attend the meeting of the intergovernmental commission in Russia slated for April 4-5, Venezuelan Ambassador to Russia Carlos Rafael Faria Tortosa said on Tuesday.

"What I know is that the meeting of the intergovernmental commission will be held on April 4-5, and, of course, many ministers will come to Moscow with their teams in order to continue cooperation in each area. Of course, oil is the core field of our cooperation," Tortosa told reporters.

The ambassador confirmed that the Venezuelan oil minister may attend this meeting.

Earlier in the day, Russian Foreign Ministry's Director of the Latin American Department Alexander Schetinin said that the ministry does not have any information about Quevedo's possible visit to Moscow.

Earlier in March, Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodriguez said that Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro had decided to close the office of the country's state-owned oil and natural gas company PDVSA in Lisbon and relocate it to Moscow. According to Rodriguez, the oil minister will visit Moscow to formalize the transfer of the office of PDVSA.
