Navy thwarts Indian attempt to enter Pak waters: ISPR

Pakistan naval forces have given a befitting response to Indian Navy when it tried to enter Pakistan waters on Tuesday

KARACHI, (Pakistan Point News - 05th March, 2019) Pakistan naval forces have given a befitting response to Indian Navy when it tried to enter Pakistan waters on Tuesday. According to the statement issued by the military media wing ISPR, Pak Navy detected Indian submarine in its maritime zone and thwarted its attempt to make entry into Pakistan waters. This is second time in less than a week that armed forces of South Asian nuclear neighbour came face to face.

Earlier, Indian Air Force intruded into Pakistan airspace and hit back with a powerful response from Pakistan Air Force. India lost its two jets on violation of LoC resulting in capturing of its pilot. Pakistan later released captured pilot and won international praise. ISPR said Indian submarine which violated Pak water was not hit because of country’s commitment for peace and stability. Naval chief also lauded the professional commitment, bravery and valour of Pak Navy officers and jawans.

Pak Navy used its specialized skills to push back Indian submarine without making attack on it, said a Navy spokesman. According to some reports, this is the second time since 2016 that the Pakistan Navy has detected an Indian submarine trying to enter Pakistani waters. Pakistan territorial waters, report states, are 12 nautical miles while its seabed territory — the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) — grew to 290,000 square kilometres in 2015.
