OIC resolution foils Indian visit by terming it a ‘terrorist’ state

Indian opposition party Congress is unhappy over India’s visit to OIC that in turn termed it as a ‘terrorist’ state and an 'occupation'.

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 4th March, 2019) The resolution adopted by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) meeting in Abu Dhabi endorsed Pakistan’s stance on Kashmir and condemned the Indian terrorism.

Indian opposition party Congress is unhappy over India’s visit to OIC that in turn termed it as a ‘terrorist’ state and an 'occupation'.

While addressing the press conference in Delhi, Congress party leader Manish Tewari said, “What happened in Abu Dhabi is extremely disturbing for India and every citizen of the country.

“The OIC passed the resolution in which they condemn in the strongest possible terms recent wave of ‘Indian terrorism’ in occupied Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.

He went on and asked the Prime Minister and External Minister of India “Is this your diplomatic achievement that you got India labelled as a terrorist state. Is this your great diplomatic achievement that you go to OIC meeting and lend legitimacy to them?”

“There is a reason why India has deliberately chosen to ignore these meeting. You went and got a resolution that states India as a terrorist state. The OIC appeals to other member states and Islamic institutions to provide humanitarian aid to Kashmiri people,” he said.

“Are we not capable of looking after our people?” he further said, adding that the Indian national government sold its national interest in Abu Dhabi.

In a resolution adopted by the 46th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers in Abu Dhabi, the OIC member states reiterated that Jammu and Kashmir remains the core dispute between Pakistan and India and its resolution is indispensable for the dream for peace in South Asia.

It reaffirmed its unwavering support for the Kashmiri people in their just cause and reminded the international community of its obligation to ensure implementation of UN Security Council resolutions on the dispute.
