Police Register Case Against Digging Of Tunnel At A Karachi House

KARACHI (Pakistan Point News / NNI - 03rd March, 2019) Police have registered a case against unknown persons for digging a tunnel inside a home in Nazimabad area.According to police, a 15-feet deep and 100-metre long tunnel was dug at a 80-yard house, which was closed for some time. Police said nearby residents observed a suspected activity when sand began sliding out of the residence.The police case was registered with Karachi Water and Sewerage board as complainant.

Police said they were conducting raids to arrest owner of the house.It may be noted here that a house near Karachi�s central Jail hit headlines in 2014 when paramilitary Rangers raided a house where members of a militant group were trying to dig a tunnelThe Karachi jail had a large number of high-profile criminals and had repeatedly come under threat in recent years.Col. Tahir of Sindh Rangers that the 45-metre (150-feet) tunnel had been dug from an underground water tank at the house towards a dry well inside the jail boundary, and was just 10 metres short of its target when the Rangers made their raid.Authorities had fortified the jail by erecting double boundary walls in view of the threats and jammers were also installed around the jail to prevent any bomb attack.
