Weeklong Spring Festival 2019 concludes at University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences

IPS won overall 1st position, FSHN got 2nd and DVM stood on 3rd Ex- Chief Justice Khawaja and VC Pasha distributed trophies among overall winners of spring festival

LAHORE (Pakistan Point News - 01st March, 2019) :The weeklong Spring Festival 2019 of the University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore concluded with floral, departments’ decoration and drama competitions. Former Chief Justice of Pakistan Jawwad S. Khawaja and Vice-Chancellor Meritorious Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha (S.I) co-chaired the concluding ceremony in the evening and distributed trophies among overall winners of the spring festival contests while Senior Tutor UVAS Prof Dr Kamran Ashraf and a large number of students were present on the occasion. The Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (IPS) won overall first position, Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition (FSHN) got second and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) stood on third position.

Drama, quiz, naat-qiraat, azaan, poster/model exhibition, floral & department decoration, music, photography, short film, Tik Tok, bait bazi, ghazal, urdu and english poetry, master art, standup comedy and treasure hunt, etc contests featured the week-long spring festival. Speaking at the concluding ceremony of the spring festival, Jawwad S. Khawaja said that students are the real future of Pakistan. He also spoke about the importance of urdu language in the development of society. He lauded the role of UVAS for the promotion of curricular and extra-curricular activities for enhancing talent and skills in their students. VC Prof Pasha appreciated the students’ enthusiastic participation in the festival contests. He said that such activities are necessary for students’ character building and social training. Earlier held various competitions including Sketching, Urdu Nazam, Urdu Ghazal, English Poem and Bait Bazi, Master Art, Sayeda Shumaila (IPS), Uzma Malik (DND), Muhammad Danish Raza (DVM), Muhammad Haris (DVM), Hamna Shoaib & Mazia team (DND) and Sarim Sohail, Nabeeha Ijaz and Zareen Shahbaz Khan all won 1 st positions while in Drama competition Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (IPS) team won 1 st position. All the winners received certificates and shields from VC Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha and Senior Tutor Prof Dr Kamran Ashraf.
