Indian pilot Abhinandan shifted to Wagah border amid tight security

Indian officials are present at the Wagah border to receive their wing commander.

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 1st March, 2019) Indian pilot Abhinandan Varthaman has been shifted to Wagah border amid tight security.

Pakistan will hand over detained Indian pilot Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman to India via the Wagah Border today.

He was taken to Wagah border amid tight security and high protocol.

Indian officials are present at the Wagah border to receive their wing commander.

Abhinandan was arrested by the Pakistani Army following the aerial incident over the disputed Kashmir region.

Meanwhile, instead of celebrating the return of their detained pilot and giving him a warm welcome, India has expressed its cowardice by cancelling the parade at Wagah Border.

There will be no parade on Indian side of the Wagah Border. However, routine parade will be held on the Pakistani side.

Indian officials said that the ceremony has been called off due to administrative requirements in the wake of IAF Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman's release.
The public will not be allowed in the ceremony area that is located in the Attari of Punjab along the Indo-Pak border, the BSF official said.

Indian Air Force (IAF) pilot Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman was taken into custody by the Pakistan’s armed forces on Wednesday.

Abhinandan was flying an MiG 21 Bison jet that was shot down by Pakistan Air Force (PAF) with the pilot taken into custody.

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday announced to release the Indian pilot as a peace gesture.
