MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 01st March, 2019) The Russian Defense Ministry has asked the country's foreign ministry to negotiate with the United States the access of six humanitarian convoys to Rukban refugee camp located on the US-controlled territory At Tanf in Syria.
The joint statement of Syrian and Russian general staffs said earlier in the week that Damascus would start forming humanitarian convoys to evacuate refugees from Rukban starting March 1.
"I am asking to immediately start relevant work on all international platforms, particularly in New York, Washington, Geneva and Amman to negotiate with US partners the issue of unhindered access of all six humanitarian convoys to the illegally occupied At Tanf zone," Mikhail Mizintsev, the head of the Russian National Defense Control Center, told Alexander Marchenko, a representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, at the meeting of the Syrian and Russian general staffs.
