MOCD organises innovation lab for community development

The Ministry of Community Development organised the 'Public-Benefit Non-Profit Organisations Innovation Lab', to discuss four pillars that aim to raise community level future developmental tasks

DUBAI, (Pakistan Point News - 28th Feb, 2019) The Ministry of Community Development organised the 'Public-Benefit Non-Profit Organisations Innovation Lab', to discuss four pillars that aim to raise community level future developmental tasks. The outcomes of the brain storming session that brought together the leadership of the two parties was as part of the activities of the UAE Innovation Month February 2019.

Held on Wednesday, 27th February, in Dubai Design District the session began with a presentation by Hessa Tahlak Assistant Under-Secretary for Community Development Sector and Chief Innovation Officer, about the innovation lab and pillars to be discussed in addition to the plenary session which highlighted the initiatives and activities that are approved and circulated for the participants in the innovation lab.

Hessa Tahlak emphasised that the four pillars of the innovation lab include: the role of the public benefit non-profit sector in the formation and cohesion of families, the role of public benefit non-profit sector in community rehabilitation, activating joint cooperation with the public benefit non-profit sector in enhancing volunteering work.

These pillars represent the major constituents of community work based on family cohesion and social cohesion to achieve the ambitious developmental vision of the UAE government moving towards the UAE 2071 Centennial goals to be the world’s best, happiest and most prosperous country.

Hessa Tahlak stated the importance of the public-benefit non-profit organisations with both government and private sectors in achieve the national goals and sustainable development agenda.

Khadija Bastaki, Executive Director in Dubai Design District, D3, said, "D3 is delighted to support the Ministry of Community Development in hosting this important workshop that focuses on researching the best-practices in governmental work. As a district, D3 is committed to supporting initiatives that educate the youth and prepare them for their role in shaping the future of the UAE."

Dubai Design District also hosted a booth of Emirates Nature-WWF, as part of the innovation month of the Ministry of Community Development under the theme "Innovation Lab of Public Benefit Non-Profit Organisations".
