UNITED NATIONS (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 26th February, 2019) The third Brussels conference on Syria will not be meaningful if the representatives of the Syrian government do not participate in it, Russian Ambassador to the United Nations Vassily Nebenzia told the UN Security Council on Tuesday."We want to underscore that without inviting the representatives of the Syrian government to the upcoming Brussels conference, it will not be meaningful," Nebenzia said.
The Brussel conference, devoted to mobilizing financial aid for the war-torn country, will be held on March 12-14.
The conference managed to mobilize $4.4 billion in financial aid for Syria for 2018 and $3.4 billion for 2019-2020.
