Russian, Indian Foreign Ministers to Discuss Bilateral Cooperation Wednesday - Moscow

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Indian Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj will discuss the development of the bilateral cooperation and fight against terrorism at a meeting in China's Wuzhen on Wednesday, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 26th February, 2019) Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Indian Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj will discuss the development of the bilateral cooperation and fight against terrorism at a meeting in China's Wuzhen on Wednesday, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, Wuzhen will host the 16th Russia-India-China (RIC) foreign ministerial meeting.

"During the meeting the ministers will focus on the issues related to the further promotion of the Russian-Indian cooperation. The parties are going to discuss current issues on the bilateral agenda; urgent international and regional problems with a focus on the cooperation in the Russia-India-China, Shanghai Cooperation Organization, BRICS and the Asia-Pacific region formats; and the fight against international terrorism," the statement read.

The ministers will also discuss preparations for the Indian delegation's participation in the Eastern Economic Forum in the Russian city of Vladivostok on September 4-6.

In addition, the two parties will discuss this year's schedule of bilateral contacts, including the next round of the consultations between the two foreign ministries that will be held in April.

According to the statement, Moscow and New Delhi are sharing common approaches to key global issues, including fight against terrorism, ensuring stability in the middle East and North African region, and settlement of the conflicts in Syria and Afghanistan.
