MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 25th February, 2019) Russian President Vladimir Putin did not justify the criminal case against Baring Vostok founder Michael Calvey, he stated the facts and did not express any preferences, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Sputnik.

Earlier in the day, Bloomberg reported, citing sources, that Putin "defended the decision to prosecute U.S. fund manager Michael Calvey on fraud charges" at a private session.

"Certainly not. The president stated the facts, he did not express any preferences," Peskov said when asked to comment on the publication.
