Hurriyat Conference (M) has termed the present prevailing situation in Kashmir as serious and explosive

SRINAGAR (Pakistan Point News / NNI - 25th February, 2019) Hurriyat Conference (M) has termed the present prevailing situation in Kashmir as serious and explosive.In a statement a Hurriyat (M) spokesman said that New Delhi to strengthen its grip is violating all international principles. Forces have been given a free hand to instill fear and create a suffocating atmosphere across the Valley leaving people in shock and despair. He warned of any tinkering with the states hereditary state subject law, Article 35 A stating the move aimed at tampering with the law is fraught with dangerous consequences as the people of all the three regions of the state are united and stand together and will not allow any change in it at any cost.

The spokesman strongly denounced the crackdown, mass arrests and continued nocturnal raids across Kashmir and condemned the arrest of leaders, including Muhammad Yasin Malik, Ameer-e-Jamaaat Dr Hameed Fayaz and dozens of other Jamaat leaders and also the arrest of Jamiat-e-Ahlihadees vice- president Moulana Mushtaq Ahmeed Veeri and dozens of other activists of Jamiat-e-Ahlidhaees, including Moulana Maqbool Akhrani and the arrest of Hurriyat leaders and activists.

By resorting to arbitrary and illegal arrests, detentions intimidation and restrictions the rulers will not achieve anything as in the past, nor will it force the people of Kashmir into submission.He also condemned the house arrest of Hurriyat (M) former chairman Prof Abdul Ghani Bhat.The spokesman also termed the crackdown and mass arrests of leaders across Kashmir as vindictiveness of the government and stated that these repressive measures are aimed at instilling fear among the common masses and among those who are peacefully pursuing their struggle for resolution of the Kashmir dispute.

Hurriyat (M) spokesman reiterated that the lingering Kashmir dispute was the main reason of tension between the two nuclear powers, India and Pakistan and that as long as the issues remains unresolved, there will always be mistrust and threats of war always will loom over the region and peace would always be elusive.Kashmir issue is not a territorial dispute between the two nations but an issues of justice related to political fate of more than a crore people living in this land and it is high time that this issue should be resolved in its historic perspective and keeping in view the aspirations of its people, the spokesman added.
