Saudi Arabia, China Sign Economic Cooperation Agreements Worth $28Bln - Foreign Ministry

Saudi Arabia and China signed 35 agreements on economic cooperation worth a total of $28 billion during an investment forum dedicated to the visit of the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to China, the kingdom's Foreign Ministry said on Friday

DOHA (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 22nd February, 2019) Saudi Arabia and China signed 35 agreements on economic cooperation worth a total of $28 billion during an investment forum dedicated to the visit of the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to China, the kingdom's Foreign Ministry said on Friday.

Saudi Crown Prince started an Asian tour on February 17, during which he visited India, Pakistan and China. In Beijing, he met with Chinese leader Xi Jinping.

"The investment forum was attended by 25 enterprises of the private and public sectors of the kingdom, 35 agreements on bilateral economic cooperation worth more than $28 billion were concluded," the ministry said.

According to local media, the agreements cover such sectors as shipping, energy and finance.

According to Al Arabiya broadcaster, the crown prince noted the effectiveness of economic coordination between China and Saudi Arabia and the 32-percent year-on-year increase in trade between the two countries in 2018.
