TOKYO (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 15th February, 2019) A high-level delegation led by Kim Chang Son, a close aide to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, arrived in the Chinese capital on Friday and may come to Hanoi before the second summit between Kim and US President Donald Trump commences, local media reported, citing a source in Beijing.

A total of 12 North Korean officials were on a list of passengers that flew on a plane traveling from Pyongyang to Beijing, Yonhap news Agency reported. Kim Chang Son was seen at the Beijing airport earlier in the day, according to the source.

The media outlet noted that the delegation might then depart for Hanoi for discussions with US officials regarding preparations for the Trump-Kim summit.

Trump announced on Twitter last Friday that the meeting would take place in the Vietnamese capital on February 27-28. He said he looked forward to meeting Kim to advance "the cause of peace" as they sit down to discuss the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.

Trump and Kim met for the first time last June. During the summit, Kim expressed commitment to getting rid of its nuclear arsenal, while Trump said Washington was ready to give security guarantees to Pyongyang.
