Truce Breaches Registered In Aleppo Province Within Past 24 Hours - Reconciliation Center

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 10th February, 2019) Ceasefire violations were registered within past 24 hours in the Syrian province of Aleppo, Lt. Gen. Sergei Solomatin, head of the Russian Center for Syrian Reconciliation, said on Saturday.

"Despite the established ceasefire in the Idlib de-escalation zone, within past 24 hours militants from the illegal armed formations shelled the settlement of Tell-Alush in the province of Aleppo," Solomatin said.

The official pointed out that the Syrian refugees continued to return to their homes adding that more than 221,800 people have done that, as of Friday.

Meanwhile, 47,300 people were granted pardon as of Friday as the Syrian authorities continue to implement the presidential decree on amnesty for those, who evaded military service.

Solomatin pointed out that Russia continued to assist in reconstruction of the Syrian infrastructure damaged during the ongoing military conflict in the country. As of Friday, almost 31,200 residential houses, 810 education facilities and 136 medical facilities have been reconstructed.

The official added that the Syrian citizens, who live in the territories controlled by the US-backed Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the provinces of Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor, continued their protests demanding to withdraw the US-led coalition's forces from the region.

Syria has been mired in a civil war since 2011, with the government forces fighting against numerous opposition groups as well as militant and terrorist organizations. Russia, along with Turkey and Iran, is a guarantor of the ceasefire in Syria. Moscow is also providing humanitarian aid to residents of the crisis-torn country.
