WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 08th February, 2019) The United States has imposed restrictions and revoked visas held by members of the Venezuelan Constituent Assembly, US Special Envoy Elliott Abrams said in a press briefing on Thursday.
"We are imposing visa restrictions and revoking the visas of members of the illegitimate constituent assembly," Abrams said.
Russia, China, Turkey, Uruguay, among several other countries, continue to support President Nicolas Maduro as the legitimate leader of Venezuela and have refused to recognize the US-backed opposition leader Juan Guaido who proclaimed himself president on January 23. Maduro has accused the United States of orchestrating a coup.
