The European Commission significantly reduced the forecast for the growth of the euro area GDP for 2019 - to 1.3 percent from the previous fall estimate of 1.9 percent, according to the EC interim winter forecast
BRUSSELS (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 07th February, 2019) The European Commission significantly reduced the forecast for the growth of the euro area GDP for 2019 - to 1.3 percent from the previous fall estimate of 1.9 percent, according to the EC interim winter forecast.
"Euro area GDP is now forecast to grow by 1.3% in 2019 and 1.6% in 2020 (Autumn Forecast: 1.9% in 2019; 1.7% in 2020)," the EC said.
The EC also lowered its forecast for Germany's GDP in 2019 to 1.1 percent from 1.8 percent projected in fall.
